Staff Profiles

Douglas E. Hutchinson, PA, EA

Doug graduated from Central Bucks High School (now CB West) in Doylestown, PA and later graduated from Penn State University. He did graduate work at New York University while serving as an officer in the U.S. Air Force.

Doug has 15 years experience working in the steel industry at Bethlehem Fabricators, Inc. (not Bethlehem Steel,) serving as an administrative assistant to the president. In 1976 Doug decided to leave corporate life and start his own accounting practice. In the many years since then, the accounting practice has grown from a sole proprietorship to a firm employing six CPAs, one CPA candidate and two support staff.

Doug’s many years of business experience include Production Control Management, Construction Project Manager as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the former Sellersville Savings and Loan (now a part of National Penn Bank.)

Doug has been particularly active in Church and Community Service having served as President, Treasurer and Board Member of his Church, the Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce (25 years) and the Upper Bucks YMCA (22 years,) and he continues to serve as a YMCA Trustee. Doug has been honored with Lifetime Achievement awards by the Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce, the YMCA and the local chapter of Sertoma International.

Doug remains active with the YMCA and the Quakertown Rotary Club.

He has been married since 1960 to his wife, Dee, and has two daughters, five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Cheri H. Freeh, CPA, CGMA

Cheri has over thirty years experience in accounting, auditing and taxation. She is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA and PICPA) and is a former member of both the AICPA and PICPA governing councils. Cheri presently serves on the AICPA IRS Advocacy and Relations Committee and the PICPA State Taxation Committee as well as their Local Tax Task Force and Fiduciary Responsibility Committee. These committees provide input at the state and national levels on various accounting related issues. As part of her work with PICPA, Cheri has assisted in drafting tax legislation and helped develop the Earned Income Tax Collector Financial Statement reporting model and corresponding audit guide. Cheri also serves as a member of the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council as one of approximately 20 tax professionals from across the country appointed to provide input to the IRS.

Cheri has a significant amount of experience in the field of non-profit and government auditing, taxation of individuals, corporations, partnerships, estates and trusts and a wide variety of accounting issues. She has served as speaker for the Pennsylvania State House of Representatives, the Governor’s Center for Local Government, Lehigh University’s Small Business Development Center and PICPA. She has also served as an expert witness in non-profit fraud and taxation cases.

Cheri received her Associates Degree in Accounting from Northampton Community College and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an Accounting Specialization from Thomas Edison State College.

Cheri is very active in the Community and serves on many local boards.

Craig W. Gillahan II, CPA

Craig has over thirty years of experience in accounting, auditing and tax. He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and presently serves on the PICPA Government Accounting and Auditing Committee and serves as a speaker at the annual two day Local Government Conference. He serves a wide array of clientele that include individuals, businesses, governments and not-for-profit organizations.

Craig also specializes in forensic accounting, marital asset investigation and valuation, dissenting shareholder actions and loss/damage analyses. He has testified as an expert witness in Pennsylvania marital matters, shareholder disputes and business damages. He is also experienced in the area of trust administration and estate planning.

Craig received his B.S. in Business Administration from DeSales University and was an Adjunct Professor in the business department for eleven years at DeSales University and Bucks County Community College. He served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam and is very active in community and civic organizations.

David A. Heineman, CPA, Sr. Accountant

David A. Heineman has over twenty years of experience in accounting, auditing, and tax preparation. He is currently a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.

During his twenty plus year career, he has gained extensive audit and tax experience with a wide variety of clients. He specializes in the auditing of governmental entities including school districts, authorities, boroughs and townships.. He currently services clientele consisting of individuals, businesses, governments, and not-for-profit organizations.

Mr. Heineman presently resides in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where he is active in the community. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Management from Moravian College in 1991, and became licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in 1993.

Patricia Kuronya, CPA Senior Accountant 

Patty has over fifteen years of experience in accounting, auditing and tax. She is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.

Patty is experienced in a wide variety of accounting topics including governmental auditing which includes federal compliance audits in accordance with OMB Circular A-133, non-profit auditing, accounting and tax preparation for individuals, corporations and partnerships. She is also a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Patty graduated with honors from DeSales University in 2000 with a double major in accounting and finance. She was employed with the firm immediately upon graduation and became a Certified Public Accountant in 2002. She currently resides in Hellertown, Pennsylvania with her husband and two children.

Brian S. Gillahan, CPA

Brian has over eight years of experience in accounting, auditing and tax preparation. He is currently a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants.

During his years in public accounting, Brian has acquired knowledge and skill in the area of governmental auditing, federal compliance audits, non-profit audits and private company audits. He also has significant experience in accounting and taxation for individuals, corporations, partnerships and non-profit organizations.

Brian received a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Bloomsburg University in 2005 and obtained his CPA license in 2012.

William Schmoyer

William has over three years of experience in accounting, auditing and tax preparation.

During his years in public accounting, William has acquired knowledge and skill in the areas of governmental auditing, federal compliance audits, non-profit audits and private company audits. He has also gained experience in accounting and taxation for individuals, corporations, partnerships and non-profit organizations.

Eileen M. Barth, Para professional

Eileen graduated from Bishop George Ahr High School, Edison, NJ.

Attended Middlesex County College in Edison, NJ.

She has thirty years experience in Accounting and Finance.

Prior to joining HG&F, she held accounting positions for a Mortgage and Finance Company and for a Major Building Materials Distribution Company.

During her time at HG&F, she gained experience in tax preparation, payroll processing, and governmental auditing. She also performs A/P, A/R, billing and financial reconcilliations for our clients in-office and at their place of business. She currently is a QuickBooks ProAdvisor and assists our clients in the use of the software.

She attends seminars and completes CPE course studies in order to continue outstanding services to our clients.

Mary A. Kaiser, Admin. Assistant

Mary has over twenty-nine years of experience in Word Processing / Executive Secretarial, Administrative Assistant and Tax Preparation.

She is proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications essential to the operations of a professional firm.

She is also responsible for the layout of the Financial Statements, Administrative duties to include customer service and during tax season she assists in the preparation of tax returns.

She has attended seminars over the past sixteen years in QuickBooks, Tax Preparation and Recordkeeping to enhance her professional skills.

Mary holds an Associates of Arts degree in Executive Secretarial / Word Processing from Bucks County Community College in 1986.
